«A Companion to Ayn Rand» er det første verket ment for seriøst studium av Objektivismen innen akademia. Objektivismen som filosofi og Ayn Rand som filosof har i flere tiår vært et utstøtt og/eller marginalt fenomen på universiteter og innen forskning, men dette er nå i ferd med å endre seg for alvor. En bok som dette bidrar til å bane vei for å ta Objektivismen seriøst blant filosofer og forskere.
